The Journey Of Our Stories From Idea To Book Shelf . . .

    About This Site

Well, all I want to accomplish is a little bit of writing along my life. If I meet some others with the same goals or simiar ones, fine.

Writing has been a large part of my life from an early age. All I dreamed of then, was becoming a famous writer.

Well, I don't know if that will happen in this life time. Maybe. Maybe not. But, whatever happens, I can still share my knowledge and my experiences with others. That's what makes life worth living, and the stories worth telling.

The rest of the story is told throughout this site. I can't seem to just create a "business" like place. Couldn't trash my kids' attempts, although they don't do much writing now as they did once. I'm introducing my great nephew Wilson Cianciolo into my fold as he's showing the same promise they once did. I'm hoping that he'll have more for me to share here when he comes up for his annual summer visit in a couple weeks.

There are still a lot of Quenton's stories I haven't shared. Can't decide whether to simply post them, or do them up along with Wilson's and make an eBook of them. We'll see. It's just a wonderful thing when a young child shows so much promise. And a sadness when they leave it behind.

One day, though, they may recall the wonder of their imagination and give it a shot again. And maybe this time they'll succeed.

I always encourage them to try again. But, then, I always encourage them in whatever they feel inclined to try-within reason. A mother has to voice her concerns at times!

Which is like writing. You have to keep practicing and trying until it works. It's a lonely life-writing. And it helps to have someone there to talk to about it. Whether we need just an ear as we brainstorm, or someone to give us real feedback, help us work though a bout of writer's block. Kick our seats when we procrastinate. Okay, maybe not in the seat-that'd be cause for a little more procrastination!

Show us where to go to find out about what to do next when finally the manuscript is done. Should we publish? Is it ready? Who can do the edits? Who's the best agent for your type of story? Do you need one? Can we just submit to a publisher? What's the chances of getting accepted? How many rejections does it take before you make a sale? Who knows? Just paper your walls with them, and keep going. One day it'll happen. Or maybe you'll decide to self publish. Maybe in the format of an eBook.

A whole new ballgame. And you'll wish you knew how to play it. How to get reviews and promote, market and sell your precious tales.

So, here's the Writer's Connection. Just sitting out here in the vast realms of cyber space . . . waiting to give you that little bit of encouragement . . . a resource . . . one valuable link or piece of advice . . . that article that gets you to plant your behind in a chair and actually get working. Actually finish your book and get it polished and published and sent out into the world for people to discover and enjoy.

    That's what it's all about.

Making connections. From Writer to Reader.
